Dr. Samantha McCool


Dr. McCool is originally from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She went to the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she obtained a B.S. in Chemistry.
Before attending dental school, Dr. McCool worked as a dental assistant to Dr. Connor. Working alongside an excellent mentor, Dr. McCool quickly learned the importance of serving patients in a gentle and caring manner. Dr. McCool then returned to the University of Alabama at Birmingham to obtain her dental degree. To Dr. McCool, dentistry is an exciting profession that combines problem-solving and artisty, which makes every case unique!

While she is not in the office, Dr. McCool and her husband enjoy attending concerts and art festivals in the area. They also consider themselves foodies and take every opportunity to enjoy the many delicious restaurants Birmingham has to offer.

Dr. Paul Barganier

Dr.Barganier graduated from Auburn University in 1978 with a major in chemistry.
He graduated from University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 1984 and has been practicing dentistry for 35 years in Birmingham. Dr. Barganier grew up in Fort Deposit, Alabama.
Dr. Barganier has been married to his wife Karen for 36 years. He has three married children and three grandchildren. He enjoys deer and turkey hunting, traveling, reading and meeting new people. Dr. Barganier truly cares about his patients and team. We are fortunate to have him as a new partner at Brookwood Dental Care. His extensive restorative experience allows him to perform complicated cases with ease and deliver your best smile!

Dr. Robert Connor


Dr. Robert Connor graduated with honors from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. He completed his general dentistry internship in the U. S. Army.


He has attended the prestigious Pankey Institute and the Dawson Academy. He has been on the faculty at The University of Alabama at Birmingham with appointments in the Departments of Oral Diagnosis and Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Connor was appointed to be the first course master for occlusion at UAB.

His practice now focuses on treatment of jaw problems and restoring patients to normal function. Obviously this requires close coordination with specialists for periodontal issues, implants, surgery, orthodontics, and abscessed teeth.

Dr. Connor spent 2010 as President of the Southeastern Academy of Prosthodontics.
